Switchback: Yep, you read that correctly. Profile is giving us our cake and letting us eat it too with their new sequential LED strips. Not only do they provide the excellent Type II switchback function that everybody has come to expect out of any LED accent lighting today, but when the amber mode kicks in, the Pivot delivers a badass sequential illuminating effect from side to side.
Intensity And Uniformity: Typical LED strips are spotty due to the spacing on the LED’s, but Profile’s clever external driver design allows the LEDs to be mounted with virtually zero gap between them. In addition, their unique blend of phosphorous silicone coats the front face of the Pivot Sequential strips and is responsible for their neutral “white when off” look and their amazing intensity which is unlike anything else on the market.
Don’t Be Fooled: Typically SMD-based LED strips are a bit spotty due to the spacing on the LEDs.. But Profile’s clever external driver design allows the LED’s to be mounted with virtually zero gap between them. When lit, they will create a singular, smooth, and seamless band of bright light!
Simplicity: Wiring the Pivot Sequential strips is super easy. Their advanced LED drivers control the white and sequential amber functions and only require a 3-wire input. The white wire receives a constant 12V+. The black wire is grounded, and the orange wire is tapped into the turn signal circuit.
Construction: The White/Amber LED chips are mounted to a semi-flexible but stable circuit board, making them easy to work with. The sequential function requires some additional components on the PCB, so we highly recommend avoiding these if you’ve got some severe angles to work with. Bend ’em too much and they will break! (though they are still flexible.
Reliability: The innovative Hybrid-LED technology delivers a virtually infinite lifespan of 50,000 hours. That’s almost six straight years! Because they’re based on much more stable and mature SMD-LEDs; they are considerably more reliable between hot/cold cycles compared to “new” COB based halos. The Pivot drivers are refined to work reliably on all modern cars/trucks, and are completely potted inside to avoid moisture-related problems.
